TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel model that stabilizes global two-monopoles using a Skyrme sector with a metric-like prefactor dependent on the Skyrmion profile, overcoming their inherent instability.
Contribution
The authors develop a new stabilization method for global two-monopoles by incorporating a metric-like prefactor within a Skyrme sector, advancing monopole theory.
Findings
Global two-monopoles can be stabilized with the proposed model.
The metric-like prefactor depends on the Skyrmion profile, enabling stability.
The model demonstrates potential for stable monopole configurations.
Abstract
Global two-monopoles are unstable in their simplest formulation. We construct a model with a metric-like prefactor which we show can stabilize the global two-monopoles. The stabilizing construction is realized with a Skyrme sector where the metric-like prefactor is a function of the Skyrmion profile.
