Combined study of $2S$ and $1D$ open-charm mesons with natural spin-parity
Bing Chen, Xiang Liu, Ailin Zhang

TL;DR
This study analyzes the properties of open-charm mesons with natural spin-parity, identifying their dominant quantum states and predicting decay ratios to guide future experimental verification.
Contribution
It provides a combined analysis of $2S$ and $1D$ open-charm mesons, clarifying their quantum state assignments and proposing testable decay ratio predictions.
Findings
$D^*_1(2600)/D^*_{s1}(2700)$ are mainly $2^3S_1$ states
$D^*_1(2760)/D^*_{s1}(2860)$ are mainly $1^3D_1$ states
Predicted decay ratios for future experimental tests
Abstract
In this paper, we perform a combined study of and open-charm mesons with natural spin-parity. Our results indicate that and are predominantly the and charmed/charmed-strange mesons, respectively, while can be regarded as the charmed/charmed-strange mesons. In addition, some typical ratios of partial widths of the discussed natural states are predicted, by which future experiments can test these assignments, especially for the - mixing scheme existing in and .
