The star RR Lyr and the Cepheid variables in the era of the space photometry revolution
Ennio Poretti, Jean-Francois Le Borgne, Alain Klotz

TL;DR
This paper investigates the long-term pulsation behaviors of RR Lyrae stars and discusses challenges in detecting additional modes in Cepheids using space-based photometry, highlighting advances in understanding variable star phenomena.
Contribution
It provides new insights into the long-term pulsation and Blazhko periods of RR Lyr and addresses detection difficulties in Cepheids with CoRoT data.
Findings
Long-term pulsation behaviors of RR Lyr characterized.
Detection challenges of additional modes in Cepheids discussed.
Implications for variable star studies in the era of space photometry.
Abstract
The long-term behaviours of the pulsation and Blazhko periods of RR Lyr are investigated by means of Kepler and ground-based observations. The difficulties in detecting additional modes in the Cepheids monitored with CoRoT are discussed.
