Observational Hints of a Pre--Inflationary Scale?
A. Gruppuso, A. Sagnotti

TL;DR
This paper explores the possibility that the suppression of large-scale power in CMB anisotropies is connected to the beginning of inflation, providing observational and theoretical insights into a potential pre-inflationary scale.
Contribution
It offers a preliminary estimate of a physical scale associated with the onset of inflation, linking observational features to theoretical models.
Findings
Suppressed large-scale CMB power may indicate a pre-inflationary scale.
Observational features support a connection between CMB anomalies and inflation onset.
Theoretical hints suggest a specific physical scale underlying the phenomenon.
Abstract
We argue that the lack of power exhibited by cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies at large angular scales might be linked to the onset of inflation. We highlight observational features and theoretical hints that support this view, and present a preliminary estimate of the physical scale that would underlie the phenomenon.
