Introduction to the Quark-Gluon Plasma session in RJC 2014
Antonin Maire

TL;DR
This paper introduces the physics of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP), covering the Bjorken scenario of heavy-ion collisions and the concept of hard probes, setting the stage for subsequent session proceedings.
Contribution
It provides an overview of QGP physics and introduces key concepts relevant to the RJC 2014 session on QGP.
Findings
Explanation of the Bjorken scenario
Introduction of hard probes in QGP studies
Context setting for session proceedings
Abstract
This contribution is a brief introduction to the physics of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP); the intention is to set the stage for the corresponding session proceedings of the "Rencontre Jeunes Chercheurs 2014". The text consists in a description of the Bjorken scenario of a heavy-ion collision followed by the introduction of the notion of hard probe for QGP studies.
