Bikshandarkoil R. Srinivasan, Madhavi Z. Naik, Kedar U. Narvekar

TL;DR
This paper critiques a study on a new metal-organic material, clarifying its crystal structure and magnetic properties, and correcting misconceptions about its magnetic behavior.
Contribution
It provides a critical analysis of the crystal structure and magnetic properties of the synthesized metal-organic compounds, correcting previous misinterpretations.
Findings
Compounds are diamagnetic, not soft magnets.
Clarification of crystal structure details.
Correction of magnetic property assumptions.
Abstract
The title paper by Boopathi and Ramasamy reports a study on the crystal growth and characterization of dibromobis (L-proline)Cd(II) (1). Many points of criticism, concerning the crystal structure of (1) and the magnetic properties of (1) dibromo bis(L-proline)Zn(II) (2) and diiodo bis(2-aminopyridine)Cd(II) (3) are reported to show that compounds 1 to 3 are not soft magnets but instead diamagnetic solids.
