Distance estimation of some selected small Bok globules
A. Das, H. S. Das, A. S. Devi

TL;DR
This paper estimates the distances to six small Bok globules using near-infrared photometry, providing more accurate measurements for these opaque and small-sized molecular clouds.
Contribution
It introduces a method for determining distances to small Bok globules using 2MASS near-infrared data, addressing challenges due to their size and opacity.
Findings
Distances to six Bok globules are estimated with specific parsec values.
The method improves accuracy of distance measurements for small, opaque clouds.
Provides a basis for further studies of small molecular clouds.
Abstract
The distance determination of small Bok globules is often difficult because of its small size and opaqueness. In this work, we determine the distances to six small Bok globules CB 17, CB 24, CB 188, CB 224, CB 230 and CB 240 using near infra red photometry (2MASS colors). The distances to these clouds are estimated to be , , , , and parsec respectively.
