TL;DR
This paper explores the connection between general relativity and Einstein algebras, demonstrating their theoretical equivalence based on recent formal criteria, thereby bridging algebraic and geometric formulations of spacetime.
Contribution
It establishes the equivalence of general relativity and Einstein algebras using a formal criterion for theoretical equivalence, clarifying their conceptual relationship.
Findings
General relativity and Einstein algebras are equivalent theories
Theoretical equivalence is demonstrated using recent formal criteria
Bridges algebraic and geometric approaches to spacetime
Abstract
In this paper, we examine the relationship between general relativity and the theory of Einstein algebras. We show that according to a formal criterion for theoretical equivalence recently proposed by Halvorson (2012, 2015) and Weatherall (2015), the two are equivalent theories.
