Gini index and angle measure as special cases of a wider family of measurements
Piotr Dniestrzanski

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that the Gini index and an angular inequality measure are specific instances within a broader family of inequality measurements, exploring their properties and introducing a new characterization of the Gini coefficient.
Contribution
It introduces a wider family of inequality measures, unifies existing indices, and provides a new elementary characterization of the Gini coefficient.
Findings
Gini coefficient is a special case of a broader measurement family
Angular inequality measure is part of this wider family
New elementary characterization of the Gini coefficient
Abstract
In this paper we will show that the Gini coefficient and the introduced measure of angular inequality are special cases of a wider indexed family of measurements. We will discuss the properties of the defined class based, inter alia, on a new elementary characterization of the Gini coefficient.
