TL;DR
This paper explores a supergravity-based inflation model using a massive vector multiplet with a Dirac-Born-Infeld extension, revealing how higher order corrections flatten the scalar potential and connecting it to the Starobinsky model.
Contribution
It introduces a massive vector multiplet inflation model with a DBI extension in supergravity, demonstrating potential flatness and duality with the Starobinsky model.
Findings
Higher order DBI corrections flatten the scalar potential.
The model is formulated within 4D N=1 supergravity.
Duality between the DBI-extended model and a class of Starobinsky models.
Abstract
We investigate the inflation model with a massive vector multiplet in a case that the action of the vector multiplet is extended to the Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) type one. We show the massive DBI action in 4 dimensional supergravity, and find that the higher order corrections associated with the DBI-extension make the scalar potential flat with a simple choice of the matter couplings. We also discuss the DBI-extension of the new minimal Starobinsky model, and find that it is dual to a special class of the massive DBI action.
