Center Vortex vs. Abelian models of the QCD vacuum
Roman H\"ollwieser, Jeff Greensite

TL;DR
This paper compares the center vortex model with Abelian models for QCD confinement, showing that vortex models align better with lattice results, especially in reproducing Wilson loop behaviors.
Contribution
The study provides evidence favoring the center vortex model over Abelian models by analyzing Wilson loop behaviors in lattice QCD.
Findings
Center vortex models reproduce the area-law falloff of Wilson loops.
Abelian models fail to reproduce key confinement features.
Lattice results support the vortex model as a better description of the QCD vacuum.
Abstract
We present evidence that the center vortex model of confinement is more consistent with lattice results than other currently available models. In particular we show that Abelian field distributions predicted by monopole plasma, caloron gas or dual superconductor models cannot reproduce the area-law falloff of double winding Wilson loops in full and center vortex only gauge fields.
