Exact solutions for gravitational collapse with a dilaton field in arbitrary dimensions
Takuya Maki, Kiyoshi Shiraishi

TL;DR
This paper provides exact, time-dependent solutions to Einstein's equations with a dilaton field in arbitrary dimensions, analyzing their global spacetime properties.
Contribution
It introduces new analytic solutions for gravitational collapse involving a dilaton field in arbitrary dimensions, expanding understanding of such systems.
Findings
Solutions are valid for any number of dimensions.
Global properties of the resulting spacetime are analyzed.
The solutions describe gravitational collapse scenarios.
Abstract
We present time-dependent analytic solutions to the Einstein equations coupled with a dilaton (scalar) field. The background geometry for the solutions is a product of an N-dimensional spherically symmetric space and a d-dimensional flat space. We discuss the global properties of the spacetime.
