St\'ephane Detournay, C\'eline Zwikel

TL;DR
This paper investigates phase transitions in Warped AdS$_3$ black holes within Topologically Massive Gravity, revealing a Hawking-Page transition linked to dual Warped CFTs and exploring charge derivations from horizon mechanics.
Contribution
It demonstrates the existence of a Hawking-Page phase transition in Warped AdS$_3$ black holes and connects thermodynamic properties to dual field theory features and horizon mechanics.
Findings
Hawking-Page phase transition identified between black hole and thermal phases.
Transition occurs at the self-dual point of the dual Warped CFT partition function.
Central and vacuum charges derived from inner horizon mechanics with gravitational anomaly.
Abstract
We consider asymptotically Warped AdS black holes in Topologically Massive Gravity. We study their thermodynamic stability and show the existence of a Hawking-Page phase transition between the black hole and thermal background phases. At zero angular potential, the latter is shown to occur at the self-dual point of the dual Warped Conformal Field Theory partition function, in analogy with the phase transition for BTZ black holes in AdS/CFT. We also discuss how the central and vacuum charges can be obtained from inner horizon mechanics in the presence of a gravitational anomaly.
