Cell-size maintenance: universal strategy revealed
Suckjoon Jun, Sattar Taheri-Araghi

TL;DR
This paper discusses recent advances in understanding how cells maintain a stable size, highlighting new quantitative insights gained from real-time analysis of single bacteria.
Contribution
It reveals a universal strategy for cell-size maintenance uncovered through real-time single-cell analysis.
Findings
Real-time analysis of single bacteria provides new insights.
A universal strategy for cell-size regulation is proposed.
Quantitative methods advance understanding of cell size control.
Abstract
How cells maintain a stable size has fascinated scientists since the beginning of modern biology, but has remained largely mysterious. Recently, however, the ability to analyze single bacteria in real time has provided new, important quantitative insights into this long-standing question in cell biology.
