Yu Feng, Bin Gong, Lu-Ping Wan, Jian-Xiong Wang

TL;DR
This study updates the theoretical understanding of $$ production and polarization at the Tevatron and LHC using nonrelativistic QCD, incorporating recent measurements to resolve previous puzzles and improve predictions.
Contribution
It provides an updated analysis of $$ production and polarization, including recent $ ext{chi}_b(3P)$ data, and demonstrates how feed-down contributions resolve the polarization puzzle.
Findings
The updated model explains yield measurements well.
The polarization puzzle for $(3S)$ is resolved.
Predictions match CMS measurements of $ ext{chi}_b$ ratios.
Abstract
Following the nonrelativistic QCD factorization scheme, by taking latest available measurement on into consideration, we present an updated study on the yield and polarization of hadroproduction, and the fractions of feed-down in production at QCD next-to-leading order. In the fitting, three schemes are applied with different choice of feed-down ratios and NRQCD factorization scale. The results can explain the measurements on yield very well as in our previous work. The polarization puzzle to is now solved by considering the feed-down contributions. The ratio of measurements from CMS can also be reproduced in our prediction. Among the different schemes, the results show little difference, but there are sizeable difference for the fitted…
