TL;DR
This paper explores how specific higher derivative terms in Einstein-Maxwell theory influence cosmological solutions during spontaneous compactification in higher dimensions.
Contribution
It identifies a special combination of higher order terms that admits novel cosmological solutions in extended Einstein-Maxwell theories.
Findings
Higher order terms enable new cosmological solutions.
Special combinations of derivatives are crucial for compactification.
Results impact understanding of higher-dimensional cosmology.
Abstract
We discuss the role of a particular combination of higher derivative terms in higher dimensional theories, especially in the background of spontaneous compactification. We find that the special extension of Einstein-Maxwell theory with higher order terms admits interesting cosmological solutions.
