The holographic quantum
P. Fernandez de Cordoba, J.M. Isidro, J. Vazquez Molina

TL;DR
This paper proposes a duality mapping standard quantum mechanics onto classical thermodynamics, revealing features similar to the holographic principle of quantum gravity without involving gravity.
Contribution
It introduces a novel duality between quantum mechanics and thermodynamics, highlighting holographic-like features in a non-gravitational setting.
Findings
Map of quantum mechanics to thermodynamics established
Features reminiscent of holography identified
No gravitational component involved
Abstract
We present a map of standard quantum mechanics onto a dual theory, that of the classical thermodynamics of irreversible processes. While no gravity is present in our construction, our map exhibits features that are reminiscent of the holographic principle of quantum gravity.
