TL;DR
This paper establishes fundamental lower bounds and proposes near-optimal algorithms for multi-version coding problems, advancing understanding of storage efficiency and algorithmic limits in distributed systems.
Contribution
It introduces new lower bounds for multi-version coding and presents simple algorithms that nearly achieve these bounds, improving theoretical understanding.
Findings
Derived a simple lower bound for the multi-version coding problem.
Proposed algorithms that nearly match the lower bound.
Proved an additional lower bound for an extended version of the problem.
Abstract
We derive a simple lower bound for the multi-version coding problem formulated in [1]. We also propose simple algorithms that almost match the lower bound derived. Another lower bound is proven for an extended version of the multi-version coding problem introduced in [2].
