Abstract
Considering abundant experimental information of charmed mesons and the present research status, in this work we systematically study higher radial and orbital excitations in the charmed meson family by analyzing the mass spectrum and calculating their two-body OZI-allowed decay behaviors. This phenomenological analysis not only reveals underlying propertes of the newly observed charmed states , , , , , , , , and , but also provides valuable information of the charmed mesons still missing in experiments.
