Nonlinear three-wave interaction in marine sediments
N.I. Pushkina

TL;DR
This paper investigates the nonlinear interaction of three acoustic waves in sandy sediments, focusing on wave velocity dispersion and the potential for experimental observation of wave generation through pump waves at angles.
Contribution
It introduces a study of nonlinear three-wave interactions in marine sediments considering wave dispersion and estimates experimental conditions for observing wave generation.
Findings
Wave velocity dispersion affects nonlinear interactions.
Generation of sound waves by two pump waves is feasible.
Experimental observation conditions are estimated.
Abstract
Nonlinear interaction of three acoustic waves in a sandy sediment is studied in the frequency range where there is a considerable wave velocity dispersion. The possibility of an experimental observation of the generation of a sound wave by two pump waves propagating at an angle to each other is estimated.
