Yoshimune Tomikawa, Keisuke Izumi, Tetsuya Shiromizu

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new, more general definition of wormhole throats that incorporates flare-out and traversability conditions using null geodesic congruences, applicable to dynamic spacetimes.
Contribution
It proposes a novel, comprehensive definition of wormhole throats that improves upon previous models by including dynamical aspects and null geodesic analysis.
Findings
The new definition successfully characterizes wormhole throats in various dynamical spacetimes.
It demonstrates advantages over previous definitions in specific examples.
The approach enhances understanding of wormhole traversability and flare-out conditions.
Abstract
We present a new definition of the wormhole throat including the flare-out condition and the traversability for general dynamical spacetimes in terms of null geodesic congruences. We will examine our definition for some examples and see advantages compared to the others.
