A. Feijoo, V. K. Magas, A. Ramos

TL;DR
This study models the meson-baryon interaction in the strangeness S=-1 sector using a chiral SU(3) Lagrangian up to NLO, fitting experimental data and including hyperon resonances to better understand the $ar{K} N ightarrow K ext{ extonehalfslash} extonehalfslash$ reaction.
Contribution
It introduces a coupled channel chiral model up to NLO fitted to experimental data, incorporating hyperon resonances to improve $K ext{ extonehalfslash} extonehalfslash$ production predictions.
Findings
Model successfully fits experimental data across channels.
Including hyperon resonances improves $K ext{ extonehalfslash} extonehalfslash$ reaction description.
Highlights the importance of NLO terms in meson-baryon interactions.
Abstract
The meson-baryon interaction in s-wave in the strangeness S=-1 sector has been studied, employing a chiral SU(3) Lagrangian up to next-to-leading order (NLO) and implementing unitarization in coupled channels. The parameters of the Lagrangian have been fitted to a large set of experimental data in different two-body channels, paying special attention to the reaction, which is particularly sensitive to the NLO terms. With the aim of improving the model in the production channels, effects of the high spin hyperon resonances and have been taken into account phenomenologically.
