Normal forms of triangles and quadrilaterals up to similarity
Peteris Daugulis, Vija Vagale

TL;DR
This paper explores methods to represent triangles and quadrilaterals in standardized forms up to similarity, providing useful tools for mathematical education and geometric analysis.
Contribution
It introduces multiple normal forms for triangles and a specific form for quadrilaterals, enhancing geometric classification and teaching methods.
Findings
Several normal forms for triangles are described.
A normal form for special case quadrilaterals is provided.
Normal forms can aid in mathematical education.
Abstract
In this paper the problem of finding a normal form of triangles and plane quadrilaterals up to similarity is considered. Several normal forms for triangles and a normal form for quadrilaterals of special case are described. Normal forms of simple plane objects such as triangles can be used in mathematics teaching.
