Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to evolving cellular automata rules through simulation and blending, with potential applications in social modeling.
Findings
Successful simulation of rule evolution for 1D and 2D automata
Potential for modeling complex social behaviors
Framework for future research in computational intelligence
Abstract
We define and explore in simulation several rules for the local evolution of generative rules for 1D and 2D cellular automata. Our implementation uses strategies from conceptual blending. We discuss potential applications to modelling social dynamics.
