TL;DR
This paper develops a simple empirical model to analyze elastic proton-proton and antiproton-proton scattering data across a wide energy range, successfully extracting the elusive Odderon contribution by comparing differences in cross sections.
Contribution
It introduces a toy model that interpolates between energy gaps to isolate the Odderon contribution from scattering data, a novel approach in this context.
Findings
Successfully describes the dip-bump structure in elastic scattering
Extracts the Odderon contribution and its ratio to the Pomeron
Fits data from 23.5 GeV to 7 TeV
Abstract
Starting from a simple empirical parametrization of the scattering amplitude, successfully describing the dip-bump structure of elastic scattering in at fixed values of , we construct a toy model interpolating between missing energy gaps to extract the Odderon contribution from the difference between and elastic and total cross sections. The model is fitted to data from GeV to 7 TeV and used to extract the Odderon and its ratio to the Pomeron.
