TL;DR
This paper investigates the scattering interactions between positronium and muonium using a four-center Coulomb model, providing detailed phase-shifts, cross sections, and conversion ratios for the first time.
Contribution
It introduces the first detailed theoretical analysis of Ps-Mu collisions considering a four-center Coulomb system and computes key scattering parameters.
Findings
Calculated s-wave elastic phase-shifts for singlet and triplet channels.
Determined scattering lengths and elastic cross sections.
Analyzed quenching cross sections and ortho-para conversion ratios.
Abstract
The collision between a positronium (Ps) and a muonium (Mu) is studied for the first time using the static-exchange model and considering the system as a four-center Coulomb problem in the center of mass frame. An exact analysis is made to find the s-wave elastic phase-shifts, the scattering-lengths for both singlet and triplet channels, the integrated/total elastic cross section and the quenching cross section due to ortho to para conversion of Ps and the conversion ratio.
