TL;DR
This paper constructs and generalizes D-brane solitons, topological objects in higher-dimensional models, demonstrating strings ending on domain walls across various dimensions with topological charge considerations.
Contribution
It introduces a new class of D-brane solitons in higher-dimensional Skyrme and O(N) models, expanding understanding of topological solitons in theoretical physics.
Findings
Constructed D-brane solitons in 4+1 dimensions
Generalized solitons to diverse dimensions
Demonstrated strings ending on domain walls with topological charge
Abstract
We construct a D-brane soliton, a composite topological soliton sharing some properties with a D-brane, in a Skyrme model in 4+1 dimensions, in which Skyrmions are strings ending on a domain wall. We further generalize this D-brane soliton to diverse dimensions. A string, carrying the topological charge, ends on a domain wall in an O(N) model with higher-derivative terms in N+1 dimensions.
