TL;DR
This paper performs Dalitz plot analyses of specific B meson decays, discovering a new resonance and an unexplained enhancement in the invariant mass spectrum, based on a large dataset collected at BaBar.
Contribution
It reports the observation of the $D^{*}_{s1}(2700)^+$ resonance and an unexplained mass enhancement in B meson decays, providing new measurements and insights into these decay channels.
Findings
Observation of $D^{*}_{s1}(2700)^+$ resonance with measured mass and width.
Detection of an unexplained enhancement in the $D^0K^+$ invariant mass spectrum.
Analysis based on 429 fb$^{-1}$ of data with 471 million B pairs.
Abstract
We present Dalitz plot analyses for the decays of mesons to and . We report the observation of the resonance in these two channels and obtain measurements of the mass and of the width , including statistical and systematic uncertainties. In addition, we observe an enhancement in the invariant mass around 2350--2500 MeV/ in both decays and , which we are not able to interpret. The results are based on of data containing pairs collected at the resonance with the BaBar detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
