TL;DR
This paper calculates the cross sections for processes producing the $X(3872)$ meson from $D$ and $D^*$ mesons, highlighting the importance of an anomalous vertex and estimating its coupling, which impacts understanding $X(3872)$ production in heavy ion collisions.
Contribution
The study introduces a detailed formalism for $X(3872)$ production involving an anomalous vertex, providing new estimates of its coupling and emphasizing its significance in meson reaction cross sections.
Findings
The $Xar D^* D^*$ vertex significantly affects cross section calculations.
Estimated $Xar D^* D^*$ coupling: 1.95 ± 0.22.
Charged components of $X$ influence production cross sections.
Abstract
In this proceeding we show the results found for the cross sections of the processes , and , information needed for calculations of the abundance in heavy ion collisions. Our formalism is based on the generation of from the interaction of the hadrons , and . The evaluation of the cross section associated with processes having meson(s) involves an anomalous vertex, , which we have determined by considering triangular loops motivated by the molecular nature of . We find that the contribution of this vertex is important. Encouraged by this finding we estimate the coupling, which turns out to be . We then use it to obtain the cross section for…
