TL;DR
This paper presents a comprehensive implementation of a Unit Commitment power market model in FICO Xpress-Mosel, including detailed constraints, data handling, and practical guidelines for power market simulation.
Contribution
It provides a fully functional, detailed implementation of a Unit Commitment model in Xpress Mosel, addressing open problems and data management for power market applications.
Findings
Implementation of a complete Unit Commitment model in Xpress Mosel
Guidelines for data input/output from databases and Excel
Solutions to open implementation challenges
Abstract
Starting from a basic Unit Commitment problem as published in [Carri\'on2006], we develop a fully functional, running implementation for Xpress Mosel, useable in power market modeling. The constraints of the model are discussed in details and solutions to left open implementation problems are presented, guidelines on how to handle data input (from both, databases and Excel), as well as data output (to Excel) are given.
