Discrete Korn's inequality for shells
Sheng Zhang

TL;DR
This paper establishes Korn's inequalities for shell models using discontinuous piecewise functions, aiding the analysis of discontinuous finite element methods for shell structures.
Contribution
It introduces discrete Korn's inequalities specifically for Naghdi and Koiter shell models within discontinuous function spaces, advancing finite element analysis.
Findings
Korn's inequalities proven for shell models on discontinuous spaces
Facilitates stability analysis of discontinuous finite element methods for shells
Enhances mathematical foundation for shell finite element methods
Abstract
We prove Korn's inequalities for Naghdi and Koiter shell models defined on spaces of discontinuous piecewise functions. They are useful in study of discontinuous finite element methods for shells.
