TL;DR
This paper calculates Zemach moments and rms radii of helium isotopes using electron scattering data, aiding the interpretation of muonic helium spectroscopy measurements related to fundamental physics tests.
Contribution
It provides the first determination of Zemach moments for 3He and 4He from elastic scattering data, crucial for muonic helium Lamb shift analysis.
Findings
Zemach moments for 3He and 4He are quantified.
Rms radii of 3He and 4He are determined.
Results support ongoing muonic helium experiments.
Abstract
We use the world data on elastic electron scattering on 3He and 4He to determine the Zemach moments <r>_(2) and <r^3>_(2). These quantities are required to interpret the Lamb shift and HFS data of muonic Helium presently being measured at PSI by the CREMA collaboration. The rms-radii are determined as well.
