Vacuum properties of open charmed mesons in a chiral symmetric model
Walaa I. Eshraim

TL;DR
This paper develops a chirally symmetric model including scalar, pseudoscalar, vector, and axial-vector mesons to study open charmed mesons, accurately predicting their masses, decay constants, and decay processes.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive $U(4)_R imes U(4)_L$ model for open charmed mesons, extending previous models to include vector and axial-vector mesons with new charm-specific parameters.
Findings
Predicted open charmed meson masses match experimental data.
Calculated decay constants are in quantitative agreement with measurements.
Model successfully describes strong decay processes of open charmed mesons.
Abstract
We present a chirally symmetric model, which in addition to scalar and pseudoscalar mesons also includes vector and axial-vector mesons. A part from the three new parameters pertaining to the charm degree of freedom, the parameters of the model are fixed from the flavor sector. We calculate open charmed meson masses and the weak decay constants of nonstrange open charm and strange open charm . We also evaluate the (OZI-dominant) strong decays of open charmed mesons. The results are turn out to be in quantitative agreement with experimental data.
