Jacopo Pazzini (for the CMS collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports a precise measurement of the CP-violating phase and decay width difference in B_s mesons using CMS data, providing tests of the Standard Model with high-statistics analysis.
Contribution
First measurement of CP-violating phase and decay width difference in B_s mesons using CMS data at 8 TeV with a large dataset and angular analysis.
Findings
Measured CP-violating phase φ_s = -0.03 ± 0.11 (stat) ± 0.03 (syst) radians.
Determined decay width difference ΔΓ_s = 0.096 ± 0.014 (stat) ± 0.007 (syst) ps^{-1}.
Analyzed 49,000 B_s decays with time-dependent angular analysis.
Abstract
The CP-violating weak phase and the decay width difference of mesons are measured by the CMS experiment at the LHC using a data sample of decays. The analysed dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of about collected in collisions at a centre-of-mass energy . A total of reconstructed decays are used to extract the values and by performing a time-dependent and flavour-tagged angular analysis of the final state. The weak phase is measured to be , and the decay width difference between…
