L.S.Yordanova, V.I. Kolesnikov

TL;DR
This paper evaluates the potential of the NICA/MPD setup for studying $\, ext{phi}$-meson production, highlighting the detector's capabilities and initial performance results at the new accelerator complex.
Contribution
It provides an overview of the NICA/MPD system and presents initial performance data for $\, ext{phi}$-meson production, a novel focus at this facility.
Findings
Initial MPD performance for $\, ext{phi}$-meson detection
Overview of NICA's capabilities for meson production studies
Feasibility insights for future $\, ext{phi}$-meson research
Abstract
The goal of this article is to give information about the new accelerator complex NICA at JINR, to provide overview of the MultiPurpose Detector (MPD) and its sub-detectors and to present the current results of the MPD performance for -meson production.
