TL;DR
This study investigates how the masses of neutral and charged rho mesons in SU(3) lattice gauge theory are affected by strong abelian magnetic fields, revealing spin-dependent mass behaviors.
Contribution
It provides the first lattice gauge theory analysis of rho meson mass shifts in strong magnetic fields considering different spin projections.
Findings
Masses of neutral and charged rho mesons depend on magnetic field strength.
Masses of rho^0 with s_z=±1 increase with magnetic field.
Ground state energies vary with spin projection and charge in magnetic fields.
Abstract
We explore the masses of neutral and charged mesons in strong abelian magnetic field in gluodynamics. The behaviour of the ground state energy of these particles in the external magnetic field depends on its spin projection on the axis of external magnetic field. The masses of meson with increase with the field. The masses of mesons with zero spin also grow with the magnetic field. The ground state energies of meson with and meson with diminish as a function of the field, while the energies of meson with and meson with rise with the field value.
