Heavy quarks and tau leptons: New physics opportunities
Alejandro Celis

TL;DR
This paper explores how heavy quarks and tau leptons can be used to detect new physics, focusing on scalar sector effects, lepton flavor violation, and lepton universality violations in tau-related processes.
Contribution
It highlights the potential of heavy quarks and tau leptons in revealing new physics effects related to the scalar sector, especially in lepton flavor violation and tauonic B decays.
Findings
Enhanced scalar sector effects for heavy fermions due to mass hierarchy
Potential signals of lepton flavor violation in tau decays
Possible violations of lepton universality in tauonic B decays
Abstract
In this talk I discuss the role of heavy quarks in new physics searches with tau leptons. I focus on new physics effects associated to the scalar sector which are naturally enhanced for the heaviest fermions due to the large hierarchy of the fermion masses. I will discuss two topics within this context: lepton flavour violation in the () sector and violations of lepton universality in tauonic decays.
