An alternative scenario for critical scalar field collapse in $AdS_3$
G. Clement, A. Fabbri

TL;DR
This paper explores an alternative analytical approach to understanding the critical collapse of a scalar field in three-dimensional anti-de Sitter space, contributing to the theoretical understanding of black hole formation.
Contribution
It introduces a new analytical scenario for scalar field collapse in $AdS_3$, expanding the theoretical framework beyond previous models.
Findings
Provides an analytical description of critical scalar collapse in $AdS_3$
Identifies conditions leading to black hole formation in this setting
Offers insights into the nature of gravitational collapse in lower dimensions
Abstract
In the context of gravitational collapse and black hole formation, we reconsider the problem to describe analytically the critical collapse of a massless and minimally coupled scalar field in gravity.
