J. E. Garc\'ia-Ramos, K. Heyde

TL;DR
This paper models shape coexistence in even-even Hg isotopes using the interacting boson model with configuration mixing, aiming to accurately describe nuclear shapes and their coexistence phenomena.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive approach to describe shape coexistence in Hg isotopes through an advanced interacting boson model with configuration mixing.
Findings
Successful description of nuclear shapes across Hg isotopes
Insights into shape coexistence phenomena
Enhanced understanding of nuclear structure in Hg isotopes
Abstract
We intend to provide a consistent description of the even-even Hg isotopes, 172-200Hg, using the interacting boson model including configuration mixing. We pay special attention to the description of the shape of the nuclei and to its connection with the shape coexistence phenomenon.
