TL;DR
This study provides a comprehensive wide-field photometric survey of the dwarf irregular galaxy Leo A using Subaru's Suprime-Cam, creating a detailed catalog for future research.
Contribution
It offers the first complete, wide-field stellar photometry catalog of Leo A, facilitating future imaging and spectroscopic studies.
Findings
Catalog of 38,856 objects with $V$ magnitude 16-26
High-quality $B$, $V$, and $I$ band images obtained
Survey covers entire extent of Leo A
Abstract
We have surveyed a complete extent of Leo A - an apparently isolated gas-rich low-mass dwarf irregular galaxy in the Local Group. The , , and passband CCD images (typical seeing 0.8") were obtained with Subaru Telescope equipped with Suprime-Cam mosaic camera. The wide-field () photometry catalog of 38,856 objects ( mag) is presented. This survey is also intended to serve as "a finding chart" for future imaging and spectroscopic observation programs of Leo A.
