TL;DR
This paper investigates the resonance dynamics and interference effects in coherent $ ext{eta}$ meson production via the $(p,p')$ reaction on a spin-isospin saturated nucleus, emphasizing the role of the $N(1520)$ resonance.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of resonance contributions, including nucleon Born terms, and highlights the significance of the $N(1520)$ resonance in the reaction mechanism.
Findings
Resonance dynamics significantly influence the cross section.
Interference effects between different resonances are crucial.
Cross section sensitivity to hadron-nucleus interactions is demonstrated.
Abstract
For the forward going proton and meson, the coherent meson production in the reaction on the spin-isospin saturated nucleus occurs only due to the meson exchange interaction between the beam proton and nucleus. In this process, the nucleon in the nucleus can be excited to resonances and the meson in the final state can arise due to . We investigate the dynamics of resonances, including nucleon Born terms, and their interferences in the coherently added cross section of this reaction. We discuss the importance of resonance and show the sensitivity of the cross section to the hadron nucleus interaction.
