R.F.O'Connell

TL;DR
This paper derives a quantum relativistic expression for hidden momentum forces in particles with structure, linking position, spin, and Wigner rotation, and clarifies their role in electromagnetic phenomena.
Contribution
It introduces a new position operator for spin 1 particles and applies it to explain hidden momentum forces, connecting quantum relativistic concepts with classical electromagnetism.
Findings
Derived a quantum relativistic formula for hidden momentum forces.
Linked Wigner rotation to hidden magnetic forces.
Clarified the role of spin and orbital angular momentum operators.
Abstract
Using a position operator obtained for spin 1 particles by the present author and Wigner, we obtain a quantum relativistic result for the hidden momentum force experienced by particles with structure. In particular, our result applies to the hidden magnetic forces manifest in some problems of electromagnetism. We also discuss spin and orbital angular momentum operators, as well as Wigner rotation.
