Kinematical correlations for Higgs boson plus High Pt Jet Production at Hadron Colliders
Peng Sun, C.-P. Yuan, Feng Yuan

TL;DR
This paper applies QCD resummation formalism to analyze kinematical correlations in Higgs plus high Pt jet production at hadron colliders, demonstrating the significance of resummation effects for LHC phenomenology.
Contribution
It extends the Collins-Soper-Sterman resummation formalism to Higgs plus jet production, showing its independence from jet algorithms and matching fixed order predictions.
Findings
Resummation formalism accurately describes back-to-back Higgs-jet events.
Resummation effects are phenomenologically significant at the LHC.
Agreement between resummation and fixed order calculations is confirmed.
Abstract
We investigate the effect of QCD resummation to kinematical correlations in the Higgs boson plus high transverse momentum (Pt) jet events produced at hadron colliders. We show that at the complete one-loop order, the Collins-Soper-Sterman resummation formalism can be applied to derive the Sudakov form factor, which is found to be independent of jet-finding algorithm. We compare the singular behavior of resummation calculation to fixed order prediction in the case that Higgs boson and high Pt jet are produced nearly back-to-back in their transverse momenta, and find a perfect agreement. The phenomenological importance of the resummation effect at the LHC is also demonstrated.
