Top quark pair production cross section at LHC in ATLAS
John David Morris

TL;DR
This paper reports measurements of the top quark pair production cross section at the LHC using ATLAS data, analyzing various decay channels and differential spectra to improve understanding of top quark production and modeling.
Contribution
It provides detailed measurements of top quark pair production cross sections across multiple decay channels, including tau leptons, and explores differential spectra to constrain parton radiation models.
Findings
Measured top quark pair production cross sections in multiple channels.
Analyzed differential spectra to improve modeling of additional parton radiation.
Constrained jet multiplicity distribution in top quark events.
Abstract
Measurements of the top quark production cross section in proton-proton collisions with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider are presented. The measurements require no, one or two electrons or muons in the final state (single lepton, dilepton, hadronic channel). In addition, the decay modes with tau leptons are tested (channels with tau leptons). The main focus is on measurements of differential spectra of final states, in particular, measurements that are able to constrain the modelling of additional parton radiation like the jet multiplicity distribution.
