Santwana Mukhopadhyay, Rainer Picard, Sascha Trostorff, Marcus Waurick

TL;DR
This paper develops a unified framework for analyzing linear thermo-elasticity models, enabling the derivation of well-posedness results for a broad class of materials with complex properties like anisotropy and inhomogeneity.
Contribution
It introduces a structural approach that generalizes existing models, allowing for more flexible material laws in linear thermo-elasticity.
Findings
Established well-posedness for generalized thermo-elastic models
Unified framework accommodates anisotropic and inhomogeneous materials
Enhanced understanding of model stability and solution behavior
Abstract
We shall consider some common models in linear thermo-elasticity within a common structural framework. Due to the flexibility of the structural perspective we will obtain well-posedness results for a large class of generalized models allowing for more general material properties such as anisotropies, inhomogeneities, etc.
