A close-in companion to HD142384
J.-B. Le Bouquin

TL;DR
This paper reports the detection of a close-in companion to HD142384 using optical interferometry, which impacts its previous use as a PSF reference for other observations.
Contribution
First detection of a companion around HD142384 with interferometry, challenging its prior role as a PSF reference star.
Findings
Companion detected at ~20 mas separation
Flux difference in H-band ~4 magnitudes
Implication for previous observations using HD142384 as PSF reference
Abstract
I report the detection of a companion around HD142384 from Optical Long Baseline Interferometry in the near-infrared (flux difference DeltaH~4 and separation ~20mas). HD142384 has been used as PSF reference for published observations of the well-known young star HD142527. This is now strongly discouraged.
