Geometric diagram for relativistic addition of velocities
Jerzy Kocik

TL;DR
This paper introduces a geometric diagram that visualizes the relativistic addition of velocities and draws an analogy with the tangent angle sum formula, aiding understanding of relativistic velocity addition.
Contribution
It presents a novel geometric visualization tool for the Poincaré formula for relativistic velocity addition and relates it to classical trigonometric identities.
Findings
The diagram effectively visualizes relativistic velocity addition.
It demonstrates the analogy between relativistic velocity addition and tangent angle sum formula.
The approach enhances conceptual understanding of relativistic velocity composition.
Abstract
A geometric diagram that allows one to visualize the Poincar\'e formula for relativistic addition of velocities in one dimension is presented. An analogous diagram representing the angle sum formula for trigonometric tangent is given.
