TL;DR
This paper introduces new orderings for effective mass Hamiltonians and derives associated wavefunction matching conditions at abrupt heterojunctions, challenging previous requirements for physical transport properties.
Contribution
It presents novel settings of the Von Roos ambiguity parameters and corresponding matching conditions, expanding the theoretical framework for heterojunction analysis.
Findings
Derived two new effective mass Hamiltonian orderings.
Established matching conditions that do not require Morrow and Brownstein's constraint.
Demonstrated physically acceptable transport without previous restrictions.
Abstract
We show that for a given setting of the Von Roos ambiguity parameters, it is not required that the Morrow and Brownstein condition be satisfied to achieve physically acceptable transport properties at abrupt heterojunctions. We have derived two such settings and corresponding envelope function matching conditions.
