A Direct Coupling Coherent Quantum Observer
Ian R. Petersen

TL;DR
This paper introduces a direct coupling quantum observer designed for a closed linear quantum system, capable of estimating certain plant variables in a time-averaged manner, with illustrative examples and simulations.
Contribution
It presents a novel direct coupling quantum observer that estimates specific plant variables in a time-averaged sense, expanding quantum control methods.
Findings
Observer can estimate some plant variables in a time-averaged sense
The approach is demonstrated with a simple example
Simulations confirm the observer's properties
Abstract
This paper considers the problem of constructing a direct coupling quantum observer for a closed linear quantum system. The proposed observer is shown to be able to estimate some but not all of the plant variables in a time averaged sense. A simple example and simulations are included to illustrate the properties of the observer.
