TL;DR
This paper explores the relationship between bifix codes and interval exchange transformations, demonstrating that natural codings of regular interval exchanges remain within the class when decoded with maximal bifix codes.
Contribution
It establishes that the class of natural codings of regular interval exchanges is closed under maximal bifix decoding, revealing a new structural property.
Findings
Natural codings of regular interval exchanges are closed under maximal bifix decoding.
The study links bifix codes with the dynamics of interval exchange transformations.
Provides new insights into the combinatorial structure of interval exchange codings.
Abstract
We investigate the relation between bifix codes and interval exchange transformations. We prove that the class of natural codings of regular interval echange transformations is closed under maximal bifix decoding.
